  • Arrivals & Departures
    Arrivals Arrival time is 4pm. We will leave the house unlocked for you so you can access the house as soon as you arrive. There will be 2 sets of keys hanging on the key hooks near the door. Departures Departure time is 10am. On your departure day please make sure all lights, cookers, extractor fans etc are turned off and leave the house unlocked with the keys hanging on the hooks. We would be very grateful if you could adhere to the 10am departure time so that the housekeepers can access the property to begin their work. Should you depart prior to the given date and time, please contact us via email so that we can lock the property and do relevant checks.
  • Address & Directions
    ADDRESS AND DIRECTIONS Exit M1 junction 28. Take the exit onto A38 towards Ripley. Use the left lane to take the A61 road to Chesterfield / Matlock / A615. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Derby Road / A61. Turn left after 500 yards on Each Well Lane. At the mini roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Wingfield Road / A615. Travel to the end of the road and turn right at the traffic lights facing The Peacock Hotel, carry on this road for 1 mile until you reach the Amber Hotel then turn left just before the Hotel. Continue under the railway bridge and over humped back river bridge. Look for the Oakerthorpe Holiday Village sign on the right and turn right. Continue to drive past the play park. You will see the properties are signposted with a car park next to each property.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I gain access to the house? The property will be left unlocked for you with 2 sets of keys hanging on the key hooks inside. Is there a reception desk for when I arrive? As the properties are self catering we do not have a reception desk. The office and out of hours contact numbers are displayed inside the property and staff are always on site if needed. Is there sufficient parking? Yes. Each house has its own designated parking area. Where are the nearest shops? The nearest town is Alfreton which has a 24 hour Tesco which is 10 minutes drive away. The local village of Shirland and South Wingfield have their own shops which are some 5 minutes drive away. (30 minute walk) What are the nearest transport links? There is a train and bus station in Alfreton which is a 10 minute drive away. Further train stations are available at Ambergate and Whatstandwell. Is there internet access? Yes. All properties have their own wireless broadband. The password for this is in the welcome folder in the houses. Are pets welcome? Yes, pets are very welcome. We ask that pets are always supervised and not left unattended in the properties. Pets must be kept on the lead in the communal areas. Owners must clear up after their dogs immediately and dispose using the dog waste bins on site. The pet fee is £50 per dog.
  • Site Rules
    All guests are required to read our site policies situated in the properties. No smoking, candles or naked flames in any of the properties. All noise to a minimum after 10pm. Fireworks are not permitted on site. Outside smoking is permitted – please deposit your spent cigarettes in regulation boxes provided. No items/ kitchenware to be taken outside of the property. All dogs must be kept on a lead. All dog waste must be collected / disposed of. Please leave the play park and communal areas free from litter. No blue tac/ cellotape etc to be used on the walls / ceilings / furniture. Please respect your neighbours –Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm with no outside music after this time. All extra guests must be reported to the office staff to comply with fire safety regulations. Maximum speed limit on site is 5mph.

  • Notices
    Management are not responsible for any loss or damage to property or belongings. To enhance safety and security the site is fitted with outdoor CCTV cameras. Please report all shortfalls or damages immediately as you may be held responsible.

  • Bins/Recycling
    Refuse points are located near your accommodation. The black bin is for general waste. The burgundy bin is for all recyclable waste. See bins for full recycling instructions. Note: recycled waste left in bin bags will be rejected.
  • Playpark/Orchard
    Customers are welcome to visit the play park and Orchard at any time. Please adhere to the playground and Orchard rules which are on the entrance gates. Children under 16 must be supervised at all times.
